Gypsy Fever Summer Tour - Milford Sound
Date: 1 Feb 2010
Venue: Blue Duck Cafe and Bar
Event Type: Art & Culture

Monkey Records presents The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band and DJ Balkanetic, live at The Blue Duck Cafe in Milford Sound as a part of their Gypsy Fever Summer Tour.

Following a successful European summer based in Berlin, The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band and DJ Balkanetic are back for another one of their legendary ‘Gypsy Fever' summer tours bringing the infectious, irresistibly danceable sounds of Eastern Europe to venues throughout New Zealand.

Hailing from the slums and ghettos of Auckland (the Prague of the South), The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band bring their unique brand of highly theatrical East-European Debauchery to those in need, wherever they may be.

Following the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Polkapocalypse and a summer in Europe, the band is ready to bring the Gypsy Fever once again to the good people of New Zealand.

Expect spontaneous combustion in the audience, clothes thrown off in frivolous rampage, macabre stories, legs turning into snakes, much musical and physical inebriation, and dancing, dancing, dancing… when Gypsy, Balkan, Cabaret and Swing combine, you are powerless to resist!

DJ Balkanetic has been entertaining audiences at festivals, parties and gigs around New Zealand for the last few years with a highly infectious, uplifting blend of Balkan beats, Klezmer, Romani/Gypsy music and organic global grooves.

Tickets are available from the venue.

The result? A completely new show featuring the world's fastest cars pushed to their mechanical limits, acrobats laying their lives on the line and some middle aged men falling over…. and catching fire a bit.

The 2010 show is presented by Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Greg Murphy, and The Stig; and features stunt car drivers Paul Swift, Terry Grant and host of other talented and crazy motorheads.
