The 2009-10 NZ women's competition features the six New Zealand provincial associations; the Northern Spirit, Central Hinds, Canterbury Magicians, Wellington Blaze, Otago Sparks and Auckland Hearts.
The season includes ten rounds of one-day competition; plus five rounds of Twenty20 competition, with matches played on the days before or after the one-day games.
At the end of the season the top two teams will play in the final.

Blues, Brews and BBQs will be held at Blake Park in Mt Maunganui on Thursday 14th January 2010.
Breweries both large and small will be showcasing their premium beers, alongside wines premium local Mills Reef wines, Bulmer Cider and a range of non-alcoholic beverages.
Live entertainment will be provided by a great lineup of Kiwi music including: Hobnail Boots (Wellington); The Aaron Saxon Band (Tauranga); The Midnight Blues Band (Auckland); Brilleaux (Tauranga); dDub (Auckland); and The Winch Brothers (Auckland) .
When you get hungry, enjoy a range of delicious barbecued food from one of the BBQ Stations at the festival.

Waka Ama Sprint Nationals 2010

This week close to 3000 Waka Ama (Outrigger Canoe) paddlers aged 7 to 70 will decend upon Lake Karapiro for what is the biggest Waka Ama event in the world.
320 races will take place in distances ranging from 250m to 1500m
Tuesday and Wednesday is reserved for Juniors (midgets to U/19). Thursday is W1 (single racing) and Friday and Saturday the Adult teams will take over; Open through to Golden Masters.
Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships 2010

The best young surfers in the world will be competing for waves at Piha next January when Auckland plays host to the 2010 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.
The Championship will see the world's best under 18 year old surfers battling it out for world titles in the biggest event in the junior surfing year.
The event at Piha is an Olympic-type event staged with competitors from around the world competing both individually and for their countries in front of large crowds.

The Organic River Festival is a vibrant and upbeat celebration of music, organic food and wine, creativity and the community. A celebration of good Kiwi life.
A selection of international, national and top regional bands offers a continuous musical line-up on the various stages. Workshop, speakers, fire pits, yoga, swimming, dancing, and hanging out with kindred spirits is all part of the festival. A kids zone by the river entertains all day.
